It’s finally out!

And you know, there’s no greater torture for a writer than awaiting a book’s release. Except, perhaps, for wanting to talk about the book once it’s released, and not being able to without dropping spoilers all over the place.

But there is one thing I can talk about today, and that’s the author’s dedication and acknowledgements page.

It goes a little something like this:

For my beautiful things. All of this, always, is for you.

The author would like to thank the following people for their contributions:

Ed and Elise O’Loughlin: We really need to get together sometime so you can pull my hair out instead of your own.

Brian Hunter: My own personal David. Poor guy.

The Gonnabeez: If I thanked each of you, the list of names would be longer than the book. But your help has not been forgotten. Thank you.

My FYT girls: So many of you have put so much into this story, the book should be dedicated to you. And you would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for those meddling kids.

Imogen Howson, Angela James, Vanessa Hawthorne, and the rest of the Samhain Crew: A new beginning for my new beginning. Thank you for your help, guidance, and this opportunity.

Lastly, my family: You’ve lived through the making of this book, and all you got was this lousy acknowledgement. But I love you, and you’re still my most beautiful things. The t-shirts are on their way.

This is their day, too, and I’m swiping this chance to give them yet another well-deserved thank you.

And now, to thank readers and Emmatyvillagers, I’ll be giving away a free download (separate from the Trick and Treat Contest) for hanging out here. So if you comment here today, you’ll be entered to win a free download of The Living Legend.

The winner will be chosen by the munchkins, as ever. They’re gonna be busy tonight picking names out of hats.

Everyone have a great day. I’ll be busy working on other projects, including that free read *gulp*

Woo hoo! Let’s see how many comments we have to edit today! :supah:

About Brian/David. I’m trying to coerc — er, sweet-talk him into coming over to take a bow today. But as he’ll probably be working until some ungodly hour, I’ll ‘splain.

Brian’s the one who answers my technotarded questions, bless his poor heart. If I screwed up any computer/coding/hashing details, it’s soooooooo my fault and not his.

  5. Congratulations Emma!!! I’ll be picking this up as soon as I get home from work . :flowers:

  15. Aaaaaah no. None of that misty-eyed business.

Keep it up, and I’ll unearth his Limerick query.

Now how’s THAT for nostalgia :freak:

  16. I have a copy of the limerick query if you can’t find yours. :sneer:

  17. :wtf: :faint:

  18. And did you all catch that? DH asked me what’s for dinner.

Can ya feel the love? :rofl2:

  22. After you get the page not displayed, click on the address bar and remove the ” at the end of the url and hit enter again. :flex:

And :yeyas: That’s still my all-time favorite query letter.

  23. lol :tyty:

It’d be memorable, if nothing else. Or… well, after reading all the agent blogs — moment of silence to mourn Miss Snark — it might not be all that memorable. Who knows?

God. We were all so jaded, even back then.

Off to check link in FF.

  24. Congrats Emma! You have a lot of people on your dedication/acknowledgement page. That’s pretty cool that you have that many people in your life that support you like that. 🙂

  25. Big, huge congrats on your new release, Emma!!!

  26. Congrats!

By the way, you should be receiving a bill from me in a few weeks. Hope you’re ready to take on a second mortgage.

Seriously, what’s for dinner? I’m starving!

  27. And you all wonder why I torture heroes with such sadistic glee…

I had a cheeto sundae for dinner. Sound good?

  28. Congratulations.!!!!!!!!!

Doing the happy dance for you.!!!!!

That is quite a limerick — enjoyed it.!!!!!!

    Book sounds really good.

    Best Wishes for Success.!!!!!!!

  29. Congratulations on your release! I love suspense stories. I read both excerpts and it sounds like a great book.

Hope you have a wonderful time celebrating 🙂

  31. A day late, but heartfelt congratulations nonetheless.

Hope your sales are HUGE. And that the hubby wised up and fed YOU dinner last night!

  32. Did you pick the pistachio or the pralines and cream? I just want to say that you have no idea how proud I am of you. I’ve seen you chat your guts off and work your little finners to the nub trying to get Trick in the right spot at the right time. I always knew you would. Now if you can just get Larry and Kelly in there, I think you will have a coup. To many more late night “whose jurisdiction is?and if we blew up this tower…?” questions that I am more than happy to answer, because you know I live vicariously through you. WTG !!!long live altoids…
